The Donegal Sports Star committee is now inviting nominations for the 2014 Awards function, which will take place in the Mount Errigal Hotel on Friday, January 30th. It’s the 39th staging of an awards ceremony that recognizes the teams and individuals from the county that have excelled locally, provincially, nationally and internationally.
Primary and secondary schools are also an integral part of the Donegal Sports Star Awards, which will once again be sponsored by Donegal County Council. It was another outstanding year for sport in the county and that will no doubt be reflected in the calibre of nominations that will be made over the next seven weeks.
The reigning overall winner from last year is the Ballybofey boxer Jason Quigley who turned professional shortly after the last awards ceremony in January. As the committee will be selecting the ‘Hall of Fame’ winner no nominations are being sought in this category.
A brief summary only of achievements will suffice. Pictorial and DVD footage is also required. Nominations can be done online from the nominations page and emailed to [email protected] or by completing a simple nomination form, which can be downloaded and posted to Paul McDaid, Post Office, Ramelton. Those not using on-line can simply post their nominations to Paul McDaid, Post Office, Ramelton.
